This year's literature festival featuring trips by authors to Europe's easternmost borders lead to Serbia and Hungary.

From November 25-26, 2010, a symposium in honour of Prof. Dr. Robert Picht (†2008) takes place at Academie Schloss Solitude in the context of the program "art, science & business".

art.homes is an art project which – under the motto of friendship – aims at promoting young artists from Munich and Istanbul. Ten artists from Munich and ten from Istanbul will meet and be paired up to share and make use of 10 apartments in Istanbul (2010) and in Munich (2011).

From June 3 – 5, Eastern Europeans who live in Berlin present an interdisciplinary art and culture event.

A cross-disciplinary platform that will investigate the connections between political and cultural symbols and propaganda and its impact on the urban environment, the interference between personal narratives and imported ideologies and cultural discourses in relation to the public sphere.

At this year's Allianz Alumni Academy in Madrid young qualified Europeans from 17 countries as well as political and economic experts from the EU came together to discuss the future of Europe. The Academy is an initiative of the Allianz Cultural Foundation.

Three languages, three nations, three literatures? "Radar" is a transnational, cross-linguistic literature magazine for Poland, Ukraine and Germany.

Based on the success of the curatorial workshops held in relation to the 4th and 5th Berlin Biennale, KW Institute for Contemporary Art supported by the Goethe-Institut Munich, the Allianz Cultural Foundation, and BMW take the 6th Berlin Biennale as an occasion to once again strengthen the initiative of young curators by organizing a workshop for 10-12 young, international aspirants of this field.

On January 25, 2009 opened the annually initiated lecture series 'Debate on Europe' with a round table of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Karel Schwarzenberg and the French State Secretary for Europe, Bruno Le Maire. At the National Opera House they stated their position referring to the question 'The World at a Crossroads – What is the Position of Europe?'. The discussion series will offer four more panels with diversified topics from February 1, up till April 5, 2009 at the National Opera House and The Allianz Foundation Forum Pariser Platz in Berlin.

What will the future of our political thinking look like? This was the underlying question of the event named "Woodstock of Political Thinking" on November 20-22, 2009.

The exhibition "TASWIR" deals with the crossfire of traditional Islamic art in the context of modern artistic positions and takes place from the 4th of November 2009 till the 18th of January 2010 in the Martin-Gropius-Bau Berlin. It will be accompanied by a series of workshops concerning und extending the topic of the exhibition. The results will be shown in a portable online guide.

The Grantmakers East Forum (GEF) met in Berlin on November 10-12, 2009 and invited grant-makers to discuss how we can respond to the crisis both in terms of reducing the uncertainties and benefiting from the opportunities it offers.

In order to enhance the intercultural encounter and knowledge exchange in Odessa (Ukraine), the summer school for students of the Elite Network of Bavaria's (Elitenetzwerk Bayern) Eastern European Studies course, from 09/24/2009-10/07/2009, thematically focused on "Revolutions in the 20th Century in Eastern Europe".
