Common public and private cultural sponsorship is groundbreaking - On the occassion of the opening of the "Allianz Foundation Forum Pariser Platz" in Berlin on Tuesday (today), themed "The culture of sustainability", the Minister of the State responsible for Culture, Bernd Neumann, argued for an even stronger cooperation between public and private cultural sponsorship.

The “Let’s Talk about Europe” discussion series concludes on Sunday, April 27, 11am, in the Burgtheater with the topic “What Holds a Society Together?.” The final panel is composed of Austrian Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer, Italian InteriorMinister Giuliano Amato, British sociologist Anthony Giddens, and Harvard professor Jennifer Hochschild. It is moderated by Krzysztof Michalski, the Rector of the IWM.

The Allianz Kulturstiftung initiates a music-pedagogical pilot scheme at the 11th Munich biennial with several schools in Munich. Munich primary and secondary pupils shows little timidity, when they participated at the pilot scheme "New music theatre for young audience" of the Allianz Kulturstiftung.

In 2006 the Allianz Kulturstiftung, the largest private supporter of the berlin biennials 2 and 3, initiated the first "Curators' Workshop", collaborating with the Goethe Institute and the firm of BMW. In 2008 the Allianz Kulturstiftung's commitment continues with these partners. From April 2 to 9, fourteen young curators invited to Berlin from five continents participate in this year’s workshop.

From April 24th to 26th the Goethe-Institut holds a symposium in cooperation with the Allianz Kulturstiftung at the Museumsinsel Berlin.

The literature project “European Borderlands” presents itself at the Leipzig Book Fair 2008. Six authors from Hungary, Moldova, Germany and Bulgaria read from their literary work and discuss the topic “How far does Europe extend?”.

On January 20th, Joschka Fischer, Karel Schwarzenberg and George Soros are going to discuss the role of Europe at the opening event of the series “Talks On Europe 2008” in the Burgtheater Vienna.
