Essay competition "My Favourite Library"

Award ceremony in the Bücherkubus (Reading Room) of the Anna Amalia Library
In conjunction with the special projects focused on promoting the Duchess Anna Amalia Library as well as in collaboration with the young peopleís editors of jetzt.de, the Allianz Kulturstiftung announced a call to young readers to write about their favorite library. Since March of 2005, this led to creating assorted stories about real, fictitious, and fantastical libraries. The prizes for these writings were presented during a small ceremony held on October 8, 2005 in the Bücherkubus (Reading Room) of the Duchess Anna Amalia Library, at which time the jury honored the chosen texts by Anne-Kathrin Thumm from Vaihingen/Enz, Anne Köhler from Berlin, and Heiko Kunert from Hamburg.
