Starting April 25th lasting until May 10th , London, Paris, Bologna, and Cluj - Napoca joined forces to create the Transeuropa Festival, Europe’s first truly transitional and innovative festival that combines culture, art, and politics happening simultaneously in these four cities. Welcoming thinkers, artists, politicians, curators, activists, and citizens from around the globe, it will formed a cutting edge- programme.

The festival revolved around addressing issues such as activism, transitional politics, environment, feminism, migration, equal opportunities, and more, and aimed to promote responsible citizenship especially amongst the younger generation.

Building links between the four cities, Transeuropa Festival hosted over 35, all free to attend events including debates, forums, performances, exhibitions, seminars, lectures, and film screenings to deliver a wide range of events.
Paris capitalised the potential of the city as an 'open European city', and a frequent recipient of migrant populations. Bologna deliberated the theme of mobility as both ideas and people across the city, as well as mobility within the city. Cluj discussed the topic of cultural diversity, whereas London’s guiding thread was the question of democracy.
Supported by the Allianz Kulturstiftung, the festival was organised by European Alternatives, a civil society organization that is devoted to transitional politics and culture, and engages in the challenges of democracy, social equality, and cultural innovation.
