Five European Borderlands participants presented their works at the Leipzig Book Fair 2008 and discussed Europe's Eastern border countries.
In June of 2007, in connection with the "European Borderlands" Festival, 16 authors from 7 countries traveled together through the Romanian Republic of Moldova, where they took part in three different literature festivals. Some of the participating authors were animated to write essays about their own private borderland experiences, which were presented and discussed on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Leipzig Book Fair. One invited guest was the German author Tanja Dückers, whose comprehensive field trips throughout Romania and the Republic of Moldova could clearly enrich the image of Europe as a borderland.
