The Architecture of Rain
Music Theater Project: "Architecture of Rain" by Klaus Lang, with an instructional project experiment: "New Music Theater for a New Audience". A project by the Allianz Cultural Foundation in cooperation with the Munich Biennial and the theatre Landestheater Linz.

In 2008, the 11th Munich Biennial―International Festival of New Music Theater produced the premiere performance of the music theater piece "Architecture of Rain" by Klaus Lang, widely considered one of Austria's most promising composers.
In conjunction with the performance, an experiment meant to playfully introduce New Music Theater to younger audiences has been conducted with children of two age groups. The instructional concept allowed two different groups to participate in the preparations for this work of music theater: a group of young students 10 years of age and older who participated in the production's aesthetic and organizational process; and a group of elementary school children who participated on an acting level.
In the framework of the experiment, the project's goal was to introduce young people of different age groups to a new work of music theater and study the instructional concept on the basis of its integrative mediating capabilities at the same time.
