Tuning the instrument before the concert

The summer workshop project "Jeunesse Moderne" wants to address young musicians from the countries concerned who are curious about new musical experiences in the contemporary chamber music. Experienced musicians will support and look after the young talents during the summer workshop, but will also leave them enough freedom for their own ideas and experiments. In order to also become acquainted with the music culture of other countries, the originally German-French project was extended in 2003 by putting the musical emphasis on Poland. In 2004 Portugal was invited and this year it will be the Czech Republic.

Practising before the concert

During the period of the Academy from 25th August until 4th September 2005 in Schloss Weikersheim (http://www.weikersheim.de, http://www.historisches-wuerttemberg.de) each participant will take part in two ensembles which are laid down multinationally by the course tutors. Special experience in the field of new music is not necessary. Considerable time will be given to the daily improvisation courses which for the participants will open new worlds of hearing and playing music. Works of chamber music from the 20th and 21st centuries will form the thematic basis for the Academy.
