An artistic experiment of the Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier (CCNM) in the realm of performance art.

6M1L's Extensions, an initiative of performance artist Xavier Le Roy and other artists, dancers and musicians, was a project that created a temporary, international, and interdisciplinary platform as the workspace for research, mediation, exchange, and artistic production.

The project's main focus was not the creation of a conclusive end product, but rather the process of shared experience devoted to developing a variety of conceptual approaches and work methods. The goal was to investigate the effect of work environments and work methods on the production process and the end result.
Alongside nine experienced creative specialists, eight students from different cultural branches were included among the participants. Essential to the concept was an established rule, which, among other stipulations, required each participant to organize her/his own work group and commit herself/himself to two additional work groups.
Individual stages and results of the project's work were open to the public.

6M1L's EXTENSIONS takes place in three phases:
  • April 1st through May 3rd , 2009, in LE 104 CENTQUATRE, Paris
  • Mai 4th through June 3rd , 2009, in PAF (PerformingArtsForum), St. Erme
  • June 17th through June 28th, 2009, at the Festival In-Presentable/La Casa Encendida, Madrid

Participating artists: Eleanor Bauer, Bojana Cvejíc, Juan Domínguez, Mette Ingvartsen, Gérald Kurdian, Xavier Le Roy, Chrysa Parkinson, Eszter Salamon, and Jefta Van Dinther. The students from the educational program of the CCNM are Kelly Bond, Inés López, Luís Miguel Félix, Saša Asentić, Thiago Granato, Neto Machado, Younés Atbane, and Nicholas Quinn.

The "6M1L's EXTENSIONS" project was the continuation of the "6 Months 1 Location" project from the year 2008, in which artists and theorists carried out, in one location, a six-month investigation, which studied the extent to which specialized conditions influenced work methods, discourse, collaborative endeavors, and procedures relevant to the artistic work process.
