In December 2007 the second edition of "cut & paste" took place. On the one hand the research so far has shown that especially Eastern Europe is again drawn to a theatrical attitude, with an emphasis on the imaginary in aesthetic means, and that in subject matter the post-social situation is being debated.

On the other hand the Festival shed a light on the installative and site specific forms. Looking at the season brochures and the festival programmes, theatre nowadays can barely do without fleeing the theatre and breaking away from the conventional theatre space - in the free scene, as well as in municipal theatres. Walks, guided tours, private performances in flats, performances in hotel rooms - all these forms apply a permanent borderline-crossing between private and public space, a borderline which in conventional theatres is marked by the separation between stage and auditorium.

Can such forms be discussed as being an equivalent to internet forums? What are the links between a publication of private elements and spaces created especially for this purpose in the different realities? During its course the festival "cut & paste" tried to find answers to these particular questions.
Project framework: December 6 - 16, 2007. Project venue: Hebbel am Ufer, Berlin
