euro-scene Leipzig 2001
The eleventh euro-scene Leipzig was held from 6th-11th November, 2001. Under the motto "Body checks" 16 productions - in 30 performances at ten locations - from Germany, Hungary, France, Netherlands, Croatia, Lithuania, Poland, Great Britain, Belgium and Costa Rica took a look at the human body - with its virtuosity, its suffering, its vulnerability and its strength.
The Festival under the artistic direction of Michael Freundt presented two premieres, two co-productions and six German premieres. With Angelin Prelijocaj from France, for the first time the Festival was opened by one of the stars of the ballet and dance world.
