Art Forum Berlin Talks
The eleventh ART FORUM BERLIN - the international Fair for Contemporary Art - will be held from September 30 to October 4, 2006 at Berlin's trade fair centre.
120 selected galleries will be profiled in the historic exhibition halls. There will be some familiar faces from the international art scene as well as newcomers from 25 different countries. Visitors will be presented with many different forms of artistic expression from the 21st century. The works will be in a wide variety of media, ranging from photography, video art and installations, to painting and sculpture. In 2005, 37,000 art enthusiasts came to see the latest artists and trends.
The ART FORUM BERLIN TALKS have been a feature of the program since 2000. They invite exhibition visitors to discuss burning issues in art and culture with prominent platform speakers. The focus is on the issues of "Aesthetic Positions in the 21st Century", "Europe United - The Contemporary Art Scene in Slovakia", "Art Cities in Dialog: Tokyo - Berlin", and "Art - between Market and Institution".
The Allianz Kulturstiftung is sponsoring the discussion "Aesthetic Positions in the 21st Century" on October 3 at 15.00. This will address questions such as what motivates artists to make statements about themselves.
The participating artists are:
