Angel with 70 heads
"Taswir" is the Arabian, Persian and Ottoman-Turkish word for "picture" respectively "to picture something". The word is interpreted by the artists in its full meaning and is not restricted to visual demonstration only. E.g. there will also be an acoustic workshop which designs sounds referring to the displayed exhibits.
Further workshops deal with visual poetry by calligraphy, contemporary architecture in Kairo and Istanbul, resistant writing or iconography. Eastern and western as well as traditional and modern positions encounter each other in this open think tank and dissolve borders.
The Allianz Cultural Foundation supports the workshop series, which was initiated by ha’atelier – platform for philosophy and art.
